By acidifying the soil, this product can maintain or change the color of Hydrangea flowers. Blue Hydrangeas require Aluminum, as an acidifier, to retain their blue color. They should not be fed a Phosphate fertilizer due to the fact that it has a tendency to “tieup” Aluminum. Do not use on white or pink varieties unless a color change to blue is desired. Application Rates: 2 cups is approximately 1 lb.Shrubs: Use 1 lb. per 3 ft. of height. Mix 1 lb. in 5 gallons of water and apply at the drip line of the shrub. It can also be spread dry around the drip line and watered in.Trees: Use 1 lb. per inch of diameter. Mix in 5 gallons of water or apply dry at the drip line of the tree.To correct alkaline soil: Use 5 lbs. per 100 sq. ft. Wash off foliage and water in well after application.
